Margaret Marshall for CMS School Board Photo HeadshotI am Margaret Marshall and I am running for the CMS School Board in District 5 because I believe in the power of public school to prepare our children for academic and life success.

Before my children walked in the door of Sharon Elementary School, I had a PTA job. I have been a parent leader and “go-to” partner with teachers and principals in CMS ever since.

The experiences I have had as a PTA President, tutor, educational foundation founder, and a parent, as well as my training as a CPA, give me the background and the voice to be an effective member of the CMS Board of Education. My focus will be on strengthening programming and staffing in District 5 schools so that we can prepare our students for what comes next!

My two daughters laugh and say, “When we graduated from CMS, Mom didn’t – she stayed!” I’ve stayed for 20 years—I started before them and I continued after them. This is where I want to be.

My wide scope of community involvement and my commitment to public education always focus on making a positive impact on students in Mecklenburg County. I am determined to take my experience and energy to serve as the District 5 representative to the CMS School Board and make it work for all students in CMS.

Please consider voting for me on November 7!

Sincerely,
